立法會通過修訂專業會計師條例

立法會今日通過《2022年專業會計師（修訂）條例草案》，優化香港會計師公會理事會選舉安排及公會的行政程序，財經事務及庫務局局長許正宇表示歡迎。修訂後的《專業會計師條例》提升公會理事會選舉的提名門檻，候選人須取得的會計師提名數目由現時兩名增至十名，並新增候選人須取得兩名會計及財務匯報局諮詢委員會成員附議提名的要求。修訂條例也統一全部14名當選理事的選舉周期為每兩年改選一次，以及完善公會舉辦理事會選舉和大會的行政程序。許正宇說，修訂條例確保公會機構管治穩健，並在會財局與公會之間建立緊密聯繫，讓該會有效履行在新會計專業規管制度下的各項職能，從而促進業界長遠發展。修訂條例11月1日生效。根據過渡安排，公會理事會14名現任當選理事的任期2023年年底結束。經優化的選舉安排將在屆時舉行的理事會選舉適用。
